  1. It is with a deep sense of sadness and outrage that I write to you today about the appalling support for customers who have suffered loss of their checked-in luggage.
    I arrived in Delhi from Heathrow on BA 143 to find that my checked in luggage was missing. I filled out the missing luggage form as required, including the customs forms.
    It has been nearly two months since that day and yet BA has yet to contact me about the missing luggage. There have been no phone calls, and apart the first email I received on July 1 reporting that my case had been registered, there has ben no email communication informing me about the status of the missing bag.
    I have called the lost baggage number at least fifteen times and it was about a month ago that I was told that my luggage had not been found.
    Finally, after the completion of 40 days, I did submit a form for lost luggage and received a case number. Last week I filled out the form to request reimbursement for lost items. While the online form allowed me to fill out my name and case number, list the items that I wished to be reimbursed for (including name of store, amount, etc), every time I tried to upload the pdf of the receipts, it said “server down.” Not just once but for the last several days, even an hour ago ( 7:20 am IST, August 22, 2024). It is clear to me that this is a strategy to make the job of applying for reimbursement impossible. Although after failing to upload the receipts, I did press “submit” and the form did go through, I have yet to receive an acknowledgement of receipt from BA. No phone calls, no communication, I appear to be now facing a wall, and will not be surprised if I am told that although you submitted the form, you did not upload the receipts. No one at the BA office in Delhi has been able to provide any information, other than repeat “We are very sorry.” In some cases, I have received several different, sometimes contradictory, information, as when I inquired how long it would take for BA to process the reimbursement.

    I have been a loyal customer of British Airways for twenty five years and have never dealt with such awful customer service, which has made me resolve never to fly your airlines again. I intend to post my experience with BA on social media to warn future fliers to avoid BA. You should look into this personally and ensure that the system is fixed as soon as possible. This is the last a BA customer expects.
